Outings Calendar 2009

July 18th - TriAthlone – We are providing support on the water for the Athlone Triathlon on Saturday July 18th. There is a big weekend booked in Athlone with over 2600 people taking part in the event! The support skis are heading down on Friday night and need to be in the water by 8am on Saturday! The racing will be constant until after 12pm!

After the event we plan to have a trip around the lake. The plan is to then avail of the local hospitalities with free entry to the triathlon party Saturday night. On Sunday we hope to have more fun on the lake so bring any inflatables and toys!!

Camping will be the main accommodation for the weekend at a super camp site called Lough Ree Caravan & Camping Park. Tel. 090 6478561. Tell him you a with Lough Derg Jet Ski Club!! To find the site head out the N55 off the Athlone bypass, go north for 3km into Ballykeeran. In the village you will be facing a stone building on the turn of the road, turn left down the near side of the building and the site is on the right!!

 

Sat July 25th - King of the hill – Triathlon in Kinsale. Absolutely beautiful spot for exploring the coast! We are providing a few skis for support for the 750mtr swim before spending a few hours on the sea!

August 1st to 3rd – August Bank Holliday weekend! This is Tom Twomeys annual trip to the island of Inis Boffin from Cleggan in Galway!! All are welcome to attend!

August 2nd– Dream Riverrun – Charity run from Limerick down the estuary to Carrigaholt! Leaving Limerick at 1pm!

August 9th – Family BBQ Day in Castle Lough, Ballina, Co. Tipperary on Lough Derg. We have the sun booked for this Sunday! Nice beach, Playground, Toilets etc at this spot so we expect a nice relaxing fun day in the water for all the family!!

August 21st, 22nd & 23rd – EIREMAN Triathlon – Huge weekend in Courtown, Wexford! 5 different swims with 2 3.8km long!!!! 2 x 1.9km long!! Guaranteed an eventfull weekend for anyone who travels! Probably going bringing the tents again! The support skis will be on the water for 6am on Sunday for a few hours but Saturday is available for making trip along the East coast!!

September 12th – The Lost Sheep Triathlon in Kenmare. We will probably send just a few support skis!! Anyone wishing to travel is welcome to use the event as an excuse for a day out!!

September 27th - Villiarstown Family day - After the big success of our outing to Villiarstown last year ( its behind Cappaquinn in Waterford) we are heading back down south. The setting here has something for everyone!! Ride up the river to see scenery like the south of France or ride down the river to Youghal and the Celtic Sea. Or just stay near the slip and play with the rings, knee boards and we might even manage a wake board! Don’t forget the Sambos!

October 11th – Provisional Day booked for a trip down the Shannon estuary with Liam Nugent!! Details will be finalised nearer to the time!!
